Kids being kids! :)
We had a great time on our Field Trip. First we went into the creek to determine how polluted the water was based on how many critters we could find. The water was very clean because we found TONS of critters. Then it was off to the woods to find more critters! A great day in nature! On Friday the students had a great time creating their very own wave bottle. On Thursday the students presented their Ocean Projects! They did such a great job! The students then took assigned parts and learned even more about living things in the ocean. The next day they were able to teach our 2nd grade friends about living things in the Ocean. The students learned about living things in the Ocean and then created an Edible Ocean to represent their learning. The students were given 3 main ideas and then cut up strips of supporting details. They had to determine which supporting detail went to which main idea. Then they had to take the supporting details for one main idea and form it into a paragraph. We explored how Plate Tectonics create earthquakes and at the same time make new landforms and destroy other landforms. |
